Appeal of the action on Administrative Use Permit 16-2788 and Variance 17-0342, a request to allow one (1) Short-Term Lodging Unit at 2599 Glenneyre Street in the R-1 (Residential Low Density) zone. A Variance is required to exceed the maximum density [LBMC 25.10.008(C)] for the zone. A Short-Term Lodging Unit is a dwelling unit that can be rented to person(s) other than the owner for a period of up to thirty (30) consecutive calendar days or less. The proposed unit will occupy the existing residence with a maximum of two (2) guests, and one (1) dedicated off-street parking space is provided.
On June 15, 2017, the Community Development Director denied the application because the proposed use could have a substantial adverse effect upon abutting property because of noise, parking, and lack of control over guests of the short-term rental.
