City Staff to Provide Overview of Utilities Undergrounding Proposal
At our April general meeting, Liz Avila of the City’s Public Works Department will present the options being considered for the undergrounding of the utilities along Laguna Canyon Road and other key evacuation routes. A recent mailing from the City points to the Council’s concern to reduce the risk of power-line-caused fire and the blocking of disaster evacuation routes by downed lines, indicates that possible funding for the proposal could include both a sales tax and a general obligation bond. A question-and-answer period will follow the presentation of the facts. We’ll meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 23, at the Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship, 429 Cypress Drive.
